Hummingbird

there, did you see it?
it moves so fast
i used to keep up
with interested settle
stuffed in a bag
and hidden in the trunk
next to me
pleading
inaudible
dropping on eves
and falling through
to somewhere i have never been
this place looks like a postcard
except the people are not smiling
or look like they're having a good time
wow
that's it
i finally lost it
i shall hum a tune
without any rhythm at all
this is just for fun
so i'll take two
one for the road
f*ck it
i'll buy a theatre ticket
and sit through a day
move up the rows
to the corner
i hope i'm not bothered
cause i don't feel like talking
i want to talk to God
i wonder what's new
and who prays for Him
if He is happy
and then who would answer
i think this
and begin to think my thoughts
are repeating
over and over
a million times over
