How do you spell FREEDOM (A poem addressing Chicago and US societal issues)

how do you spell freedom
said the kid without a good teacher
the government said
we don't need 'em,
but then when they get on the streets
the officers beat 'em, yeah that'll teach 'em.

They're just worried about their 401k's, tourist
attractions, how they get paid. Well mr. mayor, it aint a
fair trade.

Say, where'd your finger go
you're just trying to get elected,
doing all this for show.

Open a school here, cut up a ribbon there
but didn't you see the crackhouses springing
up over there.

The kids don't come, because they can't walk
over there. Their mommas too scared, they're gonna
get snatched today.

He may get good grades, but A's can't protect him
against any bullet strays.

You know how many people get killed here a DAY
more than IRAQ, more than AFGHANISTAN,
but they sent soldiers over there to secure some oil land.

Some don't really care about preserving the homeland,
they're more worried about invading places with suffixes stan.

And If mr. police man, makes a drug bust, it's o' my
stars and garters, if he kills one of us, they quick to give him a pardon.
Thought he was supposed to be using his arms to gaurd us.

Pause for the food for thought. Unlearn some of what you're taught.
