Home of Waves

Green and blue
Sparkling waters
Crash upon the shore.
How I long to step inside,
And let the waves fill me to my core.
Salt stings my bare feet
That are bleeding from walking on broken seashells.
Even in my shorts and t-shirt,
I let myself drop into the salt and water.
My hair entangles itself in the cold sea.
My clothes are soaked and so is my face.
My skin sting from ocean waves
Collapsing and falling on my back as I struggle to stand.
I let myself collapse under a wave
But cough up the nasty water when I come back out.
My lungs are about to explode
And my eyes are bloodshot from the water
But I'm happy.
My hair will never come untangled,
And The sand in my my pockets will be stuck for a while.
The ocean is my home.
Even though I only visit.
The ocean is my life,
I breathe and feel it.

I love the ocean.
