Gets fouled to earn a trip to the "charity stripe," and then--
"Tattoo dribbles" to "daylight on a pivot."
I will miss him when a player "camping on the lane,"
"Can't throw a pea in the ocean," because another player
Is on him "like a postage stamp." Or "like a rug on the floor."
I will miss him when a player "falls on his wallet," and when
A team's "turnovers are coming like grapes."
I will miss him at 'crunch time' when the "bread and butter man"
"Throws a prayer," and "heaven's on earth with an answer."
And I will miss him calling the "air mail special," the "sky hook,"
The "fall-away bank," the "coop the loop," the "corkscrew,"
The "chicken stew," the "kamekaze steal," the "matador defense,"
The "stutter step," the "dime-store score" and the "cosmetic call."
