Hermeneutic Overload
Hermes was a Greek god who curried for favor
to swindle potentates
with his cunning claver.
Hermes was a brigand who hid in camouflage
to swindle the nanve
with his fluent barrage.
Hermes was a merchant who traded confidence
to swindle clientele
with his fine eloquence.
Hermes was a schemer who invented a ruse
to swindle everyone
with his verbal abuse.
Hermes was a conman who used a gift of gab
to swindle innocents
with his persuasive blab.
