Hello, Seattle

Heavy clouds cool with rain

Stretch down from the skies

And cuddle atop the buildings

We could almost touch the sunrise

Evergreens line the roads that travel
In between the hills and highlands

Coffee steam swirls envelop me
and I forget all of my plans

The watery brine of

Puget Sound

Nosily tugging

Early boaters around

And the blue waters, sandy deep

Tickle my toes, Oh memories I'll keep

The city yawns cooly

Few seagulls accompany the song

Midday brings the sun

Morning boats still tug along

Wide eyes grasp Mt. Rainier

Sipping fog and cloud tea

Hiding beneath sparkling snowcaps
Only her eyes I see

Ferries quietly travel, the familiar

Come and go

Turn and look around you
Sunsets set the scene aglow

Listening at the bird's call

But I can only hear the rainfall

Counting time in steady drops
Hope it never stops

Around this city

Souvenirs make up the years

While store entrance bells

Ring and rattle

Closing the door behind me

Hello, Seattle
