Hearts On Fire

There comes a time for letting go,
a time for "fare-thee-well."
Indifference to a loving show
makes hearts on fire sheer hell.

There comes a time for cutting bait,
a time for "sort-it-out."
Indifference to a loving mate
makes hearts on fire risk doubt.

There comes a time for taking charge,
a time for "tour-de-force."
Indifference to a loving large
makes hearts on fire divorce.

There comes a time for facing fact,
a time for "truth-be-told."
Indifference to a loving act
makes hearts on fire stone cold.

There comes a time for grading ranks,
a time for "score-the-game."
Indifference to a loving thanks
makes hearts on fire dull tame.

There comes a time for pruning plants,
a time for "aid-new-growth."
Indifference to all loving rants
makes hearts on fire breach oath.
