Heart Of Gold

All I've ever seen
And all I've ever meant
I can't say I know
But then again neither can you

This heart has taken
And this heart has given
Never has it tried so hard
But then again, I could say the same about you

This heart is made of gold
It won't rot, and it won't ever lose meaning
But that doesn't mean it won't ever hurt
You see, this heart of gold
Just isn't what it use to be

All I've ever wanted
And all I've ever been
I don't know about you
But something tells me you feel the same

This heart has wanted
And this heart has been needed
Never have I felt so used
But then again, you could probably say the same

This heart is made of gold
It won't lose, and it won't ever be lost
But that doesn't mean it won't ever hurt
You see, this heart of gold
Just isn't what it use to be

This heart may be jaded
But that doesn't mean it can't ever mend
That means it has been hurt
It has been the giver
It has received
But don't you see that this heart of gold
Just isn't what it use to be
You know it isn't what it use to be

Matthew Main Claim this poet

I write when I'm bored. I write when I feel inspired. I write when I feel I must. My writings are about whatever you want them to be about. It means more to me, what my poems mean to you. If that makes any since. My inspirations for writing are music. The main musical influences on my writing are the bands, Scars on Broadway, and System of a Down. more…
