Have you ever known a love so true, that it opens the most secret part of you?
Have you ever known a love so strong, that even death cannot break its bond?
Have you ever known a love so deep, that it invades your dreams as you sleep?
Have you ever known a love so real, that even after death it's with you still.
Have you ever known a pain so great, that the life you have you want to take?
Have you ever known a loss so full of sorrow, that you wish there was no tomorrow?
Have you ever known a person who died who could make you feel all of this inside?
Have you ever known someone like this, someone you'll never stop to miss.
Have you ever known someone who held your heart, from the very start?
Have you ever known someone who always stood by you, when no one else would stay true?
Have you ever known someone who's voice was always so dear, and who's truths you still long to hear?
Have you ever known someone you need every single day, and to whom you still have so much to say?
Have you ever known someone you've always needed the most, though he lived on another coast?
Have you ever known someone to whom you never got to say goodbye, with a tear and a sigh?

Well, I have known,
For I met such a person many years ago, and from the start he invaded my soul.
But now he's gone and he'll never get to see, my son who looks so much like me.
He'll never get to see me be the wife, of the man I will love more then life.
He'll never get to see the grandbabies yet to come, nor the old lady I will become.
He'll never again share my tears, as I stumble and fall through the years.
He'll never again share the happy days, that I know are yet to come my way.
He'll never again get to see,feel or know, the person he helped to shape and grow.
And he'll never again get to see, the poems I still have within me.
