Hands

I must've misread the creases
in your palm because your hands
lingered too long...
they stayed even after Elvis
had left the building...damn thieves.
Off to ignite more fireworks
and rob again
leaving a trail of smoke and ashes that no number of tears can quench.
The aftermath was a hangover from hell--
pulsing temples and the stench of you seeping through my pores.
