H2o

Andy Lyle 1951 (Londonderry)

You see me as a rainbow
Or a cloud up in the sky
You see me on a misty morning
Or when a raindrop hits your eye
You see me when the kettle's on
Or when you wash your face
You see me on a frosty day
Making spiders webs like lace

I am so much part of you
In my many forms you'll see
Me as a glacier on the move
Or an iceberg in the sea
Without me life could not exist
There would be no steam train
The earth it would be barren
Because there would be no rain

To skate on ice you couldn't
Without having me around
To water ski without me
Would make an awful sound
Yes you've guessed I'm water
There are lots of things I do
Like keeping all crops watered
And taking care of you

So don't leave your tap running
Wasting precious H2O
You can help to save the Planet
By conserving me you know
Next time you stop a minute
To have a nice cup of tea
Please don't take me for granted
I give you life you see
