Guilty Conscience

Zane Castillo

Guilt enters me,
no matter how I deny it.
Barriers and false hopes,
crumble inevitably,
and produce a searing pain,
that has become both,
familiar and unwanted.
Shame and resentment,
bubbles within my mind;
tormenting me with their,
spiteful presence;
taking hold of,
my fragile being.
