Growing Old

As we grow older life moves very fast.
You want to slow down and make it last.
When we are young we want to grow old.
When we are old, Memories in our hearts we hold.
We try to do things like we used to.
Our bodies are saying this you can't do.
We look back at our life and wonder where did it go.
We want to go back, stay low and go slow.
If life is good you feel great inside.
Each year it seems someone close has died.
Your family begins to shrink and get very small.
Each year God makes that saddening call.
We soon realize we are almost alone in life.
I know why we become close as husband and wife.
After the kids leave the nest you lean on eachother.
Like it used to be with you and your mother.
So why life passes us by.
Enjoy younger years and don't ask why.
Life goes fast and becomes that flashback.
So live your life with no slack.

Quote to this: Live life to the fullest.

Karen Hill

Married very happily with two beautiful daughters. I often write about other peoples lives and my own. It is my way of getting feelings out. Whether it be anger, love, hurting or fun. I hope you all enjoy reading them as much as I enjoy writing them. Thank You more…
