Good Friday

"For this purpose have I come",
born to die - prophecy's cry.
Silent before Roman and Jew,
beaten, conemned, spat upon.
Drank it all - the bitter cup,
nailed to the cross, he stayed.
Darkness overtook day's light,
soldiers mocked, Jews dismayed,
women wept, disciples fled.

Love, forgiveness, grace
flowed through blood and flesh,
Pilate's question, "What is truth?"
suspended in space.
