Gone but always Here

I remember that moment,
as if it was just seconds ago,

The news was so shocking,
my knees collapsed as I hit  the floor below.

There were no clues no signs to see,
the pain you hid so well
you felt there was only one way for you to be free.

I will never forget that knock on my door,
My best friend was gone I would see you no more.

The day you took your life was so hard for me to understand,
How could I have failed you, I would have given you my hand.

You have been  gone for almost ten years now,
but our memories are fresh and new,
they give me inspirartion to help others in your shoes.

Your memory is alive today and many children are still here,
The story that I share with them, is as if they feel your spirit  near.

I miss you my friend and my heart will never be the same,
I wish you "Happy Bithday" today,
and on that  day we meet again,
Just always remeber I will always be your best friend....
