God's Smile

Oh, beautiful morning
Shine your warmth on me.
And with it your grace,
To reveal my love's adorning
For these lonely eyes to see,
And also her loving embrace.

Oh, brand new bright day
Will you be the kind one,
That does find me worthy,
And gives my heart your rays?
Or will you, as they've done
Before you, find me unworthy?

What greivences had they
To hide her away from me?
I just can't place the blame.
Oh, brand new day I pray
It's not the same with thee,
Please, let me feel love's flame.

For this shadowed heart
Has long suffered solitude.
And doubly worse it's been
To feel her somewhere apart
In some distant longitude,
That I've never traveled in.

Or, perhaps in another city
Only a few short miles away
I can't say, but I do feel her.
I know she lives, so take pity
Oh bright new gracious day,
And allow our love to occur.

For in my constant longing
Love has cut my heart cruelly,
And cast it into dispairing seas
When, I've done no wrong thing!
Oh day, I need my love truely
For she is God's smile, to me.
