GOD IS EVERYWHERE (Poem #14)

God is everywhere, this I surely know.
I see Him in the bushes and flowers that grow.
The snow shines with His magical glow.
I'm so happy to see Him wherever I go.
I know He was with me when I gave birth,
He is with me in sadness and surely in mirth.
He follows me wherever I should roam,
Whether it be far away or right here at home.
I see Him in the moon with its shining face,
And He walks here beside me and fills me with grace.
I look up to heaven and I look out to sea.
Everywhere it seems He is following me.
Sometimes I feel Him, His arms all around.
And I hear Him, too, in the wind whispering down.
He is with me in sickness and when I am well.
There are so many glorious stories to tell.
He'll come sit beside me on this beautiful day,
And greet me at heaven's gate when it's my time to stay.

Jean Gorney

I wrote a poem for my daughter and new son-in-law and read it at their wedding reception in 1997. People have been encouraging me ever since. I try to write up-beat and happy poetry. My poetry has been in many anthologies, newspapers, church bulletins, etc. I won a small contest once. I self-published some small(4x5)books with about 16 poems in each that can be used as greeting cards. I include an envelope for mailing. Check them out on my FB page under Jean Magill Gorney. more…
