God Is An Aspirin

To some God is an aspirin. To some a bolster crutch.
To some God is a safety pin. To some an easy touch.

To some God is a masquerade. To some a wraith disguise.
To some God is a big Band-Aid. To some a booby prize.

To some God is a carousel. To some a strange device.
To some God is an empty shell. To some a sacrifice.

To some God is a heavyweight. To some a helping hand.
To some God is a fashion plate. To some a rhythm band.

To some God is mythology. To some an evil eye.
To some God is apology. To some a humble pie.

To some God is a hurricane. To some a gentle breeze.
To some God is American. To some a grim disease.
