God Didn't Promise

God didn't promise me a bed of roses
Or a big house with fence
Not even a fancy car
He didn't promise me

That I would always have it good
That things was always going to go my way
Or that I wouldn't get lonely sometimes
He didn't promise me anything

That he could not deliver
He promised me love
I got you
He promised me smiles

I got them
He promised for better or worse
He promised to not walk away
You haven't neither has he

You have my back so does he
You have my love so does he
You have my heart so does he
It seems you both have alot in common

You both love me and want
What is best for me
He is my best friend as you are
He is the one I talk to

When your not here
He listens when you can't
He is with me when your busy
He is the one that keeps me smiling

When your busy
He knows how you tell me
Keep smiling
He protects me

When your not here
He keeps you safe from harm
when I'm not around
He loves you

When I'm not there
He hears my every prayer for you
He knows how much I love you
How much I need you

I wished and prayed for you
He sent you to me
I could not be any happier
God did promise

I believed
My prayers were answered
A smile came to me
There you was
