Glass of Champagne

Through crystal clear,
hues of yellow green
catch the rim.
Shimmering and bubbling
quickly to the top;
a quiet explosion.
Wafts of yeast, apples
and sour dough,
perhaps also fresh biscuits
there, hinting of palatable pleasure.
My tongue has dancers;
tiptoeing, then stomping
juicy flavours upon it,
rolling over and over my palate
velvety with a razor edge.
