Glad Sacrifice -- A Love Poem

Like an angelic being shaped by the faultless hand of God from the cosmic dust of stars
You shine divinely in my sky, a brilliant incarnation of Venus to my unworthy Mars
Your Hair a cascade of scintillating gold, to touch it is like caressing a treasure
Your Eyes infintely deep blue oceans would surely make drowning pure pleasure
Your Lips a rubicund bow releasing arrows of promise to pierce my quivering heart
Your Skin like flawless alabaster from which my own lips beg never to be apart
Your Body a cool sculpture of perfection, enflames the crucible of my passion
Your Presence, the epitome of ethereal elegance, heightens my senses in its fashion
Your Self, the beauteous altar on which I gladly sacrifice an eternity of my love
You must indeed be wrought by the Creator from the blessed essence of  heaven above

Every now and thenI am somewhat inspiredTo reach for a penAnd jot 'til I'm tired!Sometimes a sketchSometimes a poemI never know whichOr where things are goingUntil it is timeTo put down the quillAnd if it's a rhymeAnd I have time to killThen perhaps I will callTo this very placeAnd post on the wallIn front of your faceThe latest emissionfrom J.Huffam's cell, notA garret or prison,The last grey one I've got!:-) more…
