Gifts

Many gifts are given
to demonstrate warm care.
One comes from poverty, one from zillionaire.
Many gifts are given
to recompense deep pain.
One gives for sympathy, one for private gain.
Many gifts are given
to evidence true love.
One fits like gunnysack, one like hand-in-glove.
Many gifts are given
to equalize bias.
One wants to be helpful, one to be pious.
Many gifts are given
to verify real pledge.
One shows a confidence, one a timid edge.
Many gifts are given
to support charity.
One boasts of doing good, one of ministry.
