Gift To A Curse
Curse these my eyes in this romantic light
For they sparkle and shimmer love and lust,
Before me are women on weakened knees
As with their heart's it is me they can trust.
Curse this my heart so brittle and frail
For it is open to the kindest heart-felt song,
Whether I be young in spirit or old in grace
The touch of peace has been away so long.
Curse this my everlasting burning soul
For it alerts my instincts of both friend and foe,
The waking smile of a lovers' yearning
To the heart break that hurts me so.
Curse this my life so big, and so beautiful
For my eyes are closed and I am blind,
And as for my heart so fragile and warm
It is my soul in paradise I shall some day find.
