Genesis

A small fluttering
A fleeting, flittering, minute
sign of life
Barely perceptible
emerging from the crevices
hidden recesses
confines of my mind
Shape forms agonizing at first then...
momentously
ideas merge, converge, splatter, gather
increasingly multiplying as ideas form
one by one
Gathering momentum
an avalanche of sights, sounds, smells
senses in language
a churning, bubbling flood-
torrential power about to explode
in a volcanic eruption of words.
A poem is born.
