Lifeless now you lie in wait
To burgeon forth, recapture life.
Slumber now in winter's house
Soon thy loveliness unfolds afresh.

Tender buds shyly salute the sun,
Sullen gargoyle vainly subdues a smile.
Tiny impish blossoms serenade the eyes,
Delightful hues of lavender and gold.

Your majesty reigns over summer's court,
Your essence a banquet on which butterflies dine.
The frolic of fae occupies your twilight
Sweet droplets of dew your morning embrace.
