Friends in the Bottomless Pit

A bottomless pit...
What comes to your mind?
Emptiness...dread...the black hole perhaps,
well, I'll tell you what comes to mine...
gradual desperation, irritation,
too, too, many mishaps,
I turned the corner, and d*mn, seven children and Mrs. Black,
taken down to the ravine and left,
cringing from the blood along our fingernails,
we sift the mud together and fail,
one by one we tumble down the walls,
our faces disintegrating with our minds,
knowing all along...that this time,
it might be much harder to crawl,
but together we climb, and bleed, and we fall,
yet another rain to numb our disdain,
with silent tears we struggle,
and sooner or later...
we stop.

I can't wait to read new and old poetry as well as have the opportunity to hear negative or positive feedback on my own. Ultimately, I aim to add some of my own ingredients to the recipe for human togetherness and understanding. more…
