Friends fall like dominos

People I loved tumble down like dominos
I never felt this pain til I reached the hospital
Doctor shaking their head telling me it's not good
Wish the life we lived was clean.

Sex, drugs almost like a rockstar scene
I tried to live like my grandparents wanted me to
Things didn't turn out right fallen angel and lost wings
Time is ticking with the person in front of me.
Best friend but I seen them as family
I've made a big mistake...
Taken them along the ride
Hell I was even feeling the vibe.

Wake up to reality and it's morning breath
Lived to see young but feel too old to stretch
I'm finished with this wicked life
It's a heavy burden pressed on me.
Hearing my friends dying left and right
What's left in my life I wish I could make it right
You see it matters how you lived it so long
Friends fall like dominos while same road I went on.

The topics I write about are very diverse, so are the poetry styles I apply. I started writing poetry in high school in 05. I had written some poetry during class and showed some of my classmates who enjoyed it! I then was chosen to have my poetry in the school newspaper for each month! I done a lot of my work in the library. I met a woman who i showed my work to that worked there, and she said she knew a man that works on the radio! Then i was able to read two poems off the radio. A news reporter who appeared on the station as well decided to do a report on me and I've been writing ever sense. :) If Anybody want to friend request me on Facebook feel free too! Just look up Jon Otano I should be easy to find! :) more…
