Friend or enemy?

I know guns are important, but to me they're the enemy.
Because it's how my brother, chose to set himself free.
I know they do good, just look around, we have life and liberty.
I just wish things would have ended differently, for my family and me.
They help keep us protected, and safe from harm, yet I can't see reality.
For me, I'd like to take them all, and throw them in the deepest sea.
But then where would we be? We'd be no longer living in the land of the free, people would wreck havoc on us for the rest of our lives, for eternity.
I will try to make my peace, it's in our best interests, to live independently.
