Friend for life!

You always know how to make my heart bleed.
No matter which of your many poems I read.

Is it because we are so in tune with each other?
Or is it that we feel every cruel word spoken by another.

It doesn't matter who says it or who it's geared to hurt.
It's our hearts that are stabbed, our blood begins to spurt.

We are so sensitive towards other people's feelings.
That we let their words infect us, leaving our minds reeling.

You are the one that I feel the closest too.
It's like we were one atom, that just split in two.

For two people, with so many years apart.
I felt that we were perfect, from the very start.

I know that I never have to pretend with you.
You just look at me, and you know what I'm going through.

Even at times, when I'm trying so hard to hide.
You capture my heart, so I want to confide.

So on the days when you feel blue.
In my heart, you know that I do too!
