Freed by His mercy from myself

I am just a lost sinner
Waiting for a savior
Makin myself finer
Is causing me to waver
I may be cleaver
But I can’t save myself.

I need someone to pull me from this dump
I drink rubbish instead of water
I need to get over this shady lump
Everything is so dark and black
I shouldn’t be here in this pit
All around evil deeds act
I’m held here in capture
Tied with my own fetter
I hate it here
I love it here

Deep inside, I know
That I can’t have her
Without Him, I am woe
I don’t deserve her
When I love myself more
Than that sweet angle

His shinning mercy beckons
His grace embraces
My sorry soul
He is making me whole
I am never going back
I am on the right track
I thank God for his grace
I will seek His face
Can’t do it alone
He has saved me
From my dark soul
Can’t live this way
Starting today
I’m living His way
He comes first
Then Her
