I long to be like a bird
free to roam, wings unclipped.
Stray like the gentle breeze,
touching everyone yet concealed.

I yearn to be like the rain,
pouring down hard on everything,
no one is telling me, no one watches,
able to laugh and cry as I please.

I wish my life is like the tree
that sleeps in winter and blooms in may.
I ache for a chance to be what I am
and desire for a place where I can be me.
