Fragile Trust

We walk alone on a silent beach
Waves slipping between our toes
So glad that you are here with me
Together, oh so close
Watch with me a sultry sunset
Embrace me like a rose
Tender, tantalizing, silken lips
To you my heart is exposed
Lay with me upon the soft, soft sand
Be gentel, I'm frightened and scared
My heart has been broken and battered before
Trusting you now is to leave myself bared
If you use me I'll be shattered
I look into your eyes and see something new
Devotion, passion, love so true
My soul so shaken for then I knew
I'd found endless love, you had broken through
A man I could trust, and never be used
Forever yours, our hearts infused

Sheri Moroe

I was raised On a dairy farm in Iowa with seven brothers and a sister, then off into the wild blue yonder in the Marine Corps, I've lived in many strange and wonderful placed, had three wonderful children along the way, survived a terrible marriage, to come out stronger, with insight into what life, love, pain and laughter is. Through it all Christ held me up, and kept me strong. After 3 years of being divorced I found a wonderful man that lifts me up and encourages me. My advice to all poets, write from your heart, your experiences, and you will always be a winner. more…
