Forsaking Paradise

Upon a chaise he lay,this angel in budding
 contempt
A worm in the apple, rotting the truth
His love of vestal flesh tears his heart
 away from his Lord
While every caress taints her
She, this vixen of Heaven he has
possessed, dark temptress
She plays at wearing light
A dying garden in a paradise of lies
The sacrificial lamb so forlorn
It is she who calls to him, through the
 mystic night
She who has inflamed his spite
The morning star has dimmed
His thoughts birth Sin
He knows because of her he is undone
Shadows dance, mist covers the moonlight
Together they bring the onyx night
The sun will be bloody tomorrow morning
"She will dance in the fires of mine, when
 I bring all down"
Underworld royalty, paying a precious fee
Images cloud his mind, broken ivory wings
 ripped free
A battle is born, the Lord is not alone
The white of their wings dripped like blood
Taking her hand, two black demons were
 formed
His sword he threw to the foot of the
 throne
Turning his back on Heaven evermore
When in her arms, it is he who is Lord
Together they will sow a garden of scorn
No longer the morning, the shining star
Paradise was consumed by holy war
Dark against light, serpents and dragons
 arise
Torn crimson feathers upon spikes
Screaming cherubs die in seraphim arms
He laughed at it all, not seeing her cry
Warriors of God, sent to drive them out
Legions of angels, glowing with light
Micheal and his brethren bring no respite
For Lucifer has summoned demons
Forfeiting his rights
Their backs to the gates, he makes one
 final stand
To defeat the Holy, and reign as the night
As flesh is run thru, and blood flows free
In the middle of it all the Son has
 appeared
Through haunted eyes and war torn soul
She breathes in the destruction that they
 have wrought
Deep in their hearts it was only freedom
 they sought.
