Forsaken Me

She was yesterday's
tulip blossom in thy heart
springtime, the tree which provided
your shade, and the best poem you
had written on parchment paper.

She was your inspiration, fountain pen,
and your skin tatooed with her name.  In
thou life's harvest she was the grains that
reaped your love.

Today, she's the wreckage beneath the ocean
of her own tears, carcass on your savannah, sour
fruit inside your basket, and your nightmare.  The
tulip blossom withered, tree now barren, and best
poem forgotten; now she can only stare at your portrait
and whispers oh love why have you forsaken me?
