Forget Me Not
Patrick Lane, was once my name
For at my birth the horror came
My mom I guess, and some guy too
Took me away from all of you.
I could not run, I could not flee
From what was happening to me
What did I do, why am I here
Full of questions, full of fear.
I'll never know, or understand
Why I suffered at their hand
Or why my life was cast away
To die a little more each day.
But those who loved me while I lived
Blessings to each of you I give
And worry not on justice served
In time, they'll get what they deserve.
So now there's nothing left untold
About how I died at five months old
And though I'm gone, I still remain
Patrick Lane, was once my name.
