Flowers Of Brothers Red

Fields of rising dew settle before my eyes
that see so many hidden souls who once
smiled for a mother or fathers eyes, til the
love of another had finally taken their hearts.

Climbing is the sun that burns off the morns
breath left there by the nights chill ...poppies
of bright red are a soft reminder of what's above
where they waved an unforeseen goodbye to life.

Many heavy hearts are weighed down by sorrow
of smiles from their brothers seen no more...
A shadow by the window could be an old friend,
others sleep soundly as our brave ones who served
get to see final smiles as brothers never get to say
goodbye ...Thank you brothers of flowers red.
