Flavors Of Spring
The pines are dripping off of branches each day
Spring is pushing out the browns, get out of the way
A burst of colors peeking around the earth’s soil
Gardener’s scurry with new gloves ready to toil
What will the earth birth in the season to come
Pulling weeds will always make my children run
Ripe tomatoes bursting with deep flavors of red
Worms wanting to invite vegetables into their bed
I need a straw hat to shade my deep brown eyes
Baskets of sweet blueberries I will collect for a pie
The scare crow needs stuffing and a fresh clean shirt
A shiny pin to decorate his collar wouldn’t at all hurt
