ushers wintertide mysteriously
to sounds forever silenced
by seasons naturally amending
awakening senses lost through splendor
of summer solstice past

first snow
rapture found
unique shapes drive light
to surrender to a welcomed darkness
time blanketed by millions of tiny brilliance
chilled by the sun's surrender
to white earthen-laid bestowal
yet find warmth by escaping
to beats of a western wind's gift
from the skies falls an oasis
