Fireworks

World greetings for the New Year are explosive bursts of fire.
These spectacular displays express ignited desire.

"Leave bygones in their graves,
forget all that depraves,
set aside what enslaves,
surf on fresh ocean waves,
succeed in what outbraves."

And to goodness aspire.
Fireworks aim to inspire.

Flammable compositions shout directives to restock.
The past is death to bury, place the present on the clock.

"Time is now to carry,
hear god-mother fairy,
sing with the canary,
dismiss the contrary,
dwell on what is merry."

And avoid future shock.
Fireworks terror can mock.
