Final years of the Journey

If were blessed with a loving partner some number of years
What do we do if we are suddenly alone
We've been connected for decades and we wake up alone, scared of being with self
Do we become afraid of being with old warm memories?

Do we search the www for a soul left behind as we?
Or do we simle with contentment at the cheirshed past
Others will often tell us we should not live alone
But are we really alone after all those years?

Can we live with the past bonds in serenity
Or does a new fling capture our imagination
If we choose another we bring dishonor to the past
I'll conserve the honor and reclaim it in another place
