Final Rest

Often feeling misunderstood while tears fall down my face like a flood. Mother tells me that she took the road less traveled and concludes that I traveled abroad. Many of us stop to ponder while the ebony drapes open to bring in the ivory light. We contemplate the condition Mother was in when we found her laying at the alter. Here, we started praying to an infinite being that she at least once referenced to be the liking of a God. Now all we can do is bow our heads and nod while remembering the pain felt when those tears fell down our fecades like a flood. This is when I burried my head into her chest and felt the flesh behind my teary blue eyes acknowledge that this had been her final rest while we covered her within six feet of Mother Earth's best. I dropped to my knees and cried as I tried to let go, but I couldn't even if you could. When this drama of life is over we may find that the ivory light will continue to shine through the ebony after the curtains close. Than and only than will we grasp onto the stories about a man that ascended into heaven and learn to believe that it was He that arose.

Anthony Salin

To Whom It May Concern,Hello and welcome to my biography. My name is Anthony Salin and I currently live and write in the State of Minnesota. I really do not consider myself a poet; however, I enjoy expressing myself through the means of creative writing. I am not the type of person that spends time studying poetry, technique, rhythm, or literary works mentioned in the history books. I just find myself thinking about how I am going to express my opinions, knowledge and experiences in a creative manner. The work I post on LULU (www.poetry.com) isn’t anything that I have spent a lot of time working on. The words just stream through my mind from time to time and I write them down on scratch paper when I feel that they are worthwhile. Here, I will always keep myself open to comments regarding revisions.I do have an educational background in journalism and composition. I started writing publicly while attending the DeSoto High school back in 1994. Here, I spent a lot of time writing for the DeSoto Pirates Treasure Chest and some of my work ended up being published in the Vernon County Broadcaster. I followed the DeSoto Pirates Football team and wrote about their games. I also participated in advanced drawing courses and wrote about the activities concerning an art club that I belonged to. There were also a few instances where the editor of the LaCrosse Tribune published my feedback in the editorials section of their newspaper. Participation in college composition courses offered at the Minnesota State Community and Technical College and the University of Phoenix has helped me advance my writing skills considerably and I owe my instructors credit for spending so much time helping me develop my core competency.Respectfully Submitted,Anthony Salin more…
