Fear Of Heights

He wants to say 'I love you',
But he keeps it at 'goodnight',
Because love means some falling,
And she's afraid of heights.
               She wants to say 'goodbye',
               But keeps it at 'hello',
               Because she know he cares,
And doesn't want her to let go.
He'll tell her 'I love you',
Instead of a 'goodnight',
Because he fears he'll lose her,
And he doesn't know he's right.
                She'll tell him 'goodbye',
                Instead of a 'hello',
Because she's found that love's impossible,
And is gone with wind's next blow.
He'll wish he said 'I love you',
Before he said 'goodnight,
Because then he may still have her,
Even to this night.
                 She'll wish she said 'goodbye',
                 Before she said 'hello',
                 Because she's torn beyond repair,
And her wounds are healing slow.
He wanted to say 'I love you',
But he kept it at 'goodnight',
Because it was him afraid of falling,
Not her afraid of heights.
