Farewell to the world of dreams

Farewell to the skies
of eternity's stars,
farewell to the cries
of the wolf and the wars.

Farewell to the sea
and its voice evermore,
that I heard in the free
when I had wings to soar.

Farewell to the ink
that I held in my hand,
and the thoughts I'd rethink
while I roamed through this land.

Farewell to the song
of the wind and the night,
which I listened to long
in its dance and its fight.

Farewell to the white
of the winter and frost,
in its cold and its light,
for this too I have lost.

Farewell to all seasons
from whose magic I took,
with your rights and your treasons,
which I wrote in a book.

Farewell to the swords
which I held when I faced,
All the battles of words
That time had erased.

Farewell and don't mourn
for I must now return,
to where I was born
but for here I will yearn.

That place that demand
There I must go into,
Not a dream like this land
so farewell and thank you.
