Farewell

You never even gave me one good chance,
We've never even had our first dance.

Even now, I remember all the times I caught you smiling at me,
You always avoided my gaze and looked away so suddenly.

Yet you were so quiet, you were so shy,
And then I heard you say you liked me; I had to try.

So I talked to you a few times, I did my very best,
But you looked afraid, like an angel in distress.

You blushed so much, and you said very little,
You became all red, but remained so beautiful.

Betrayed by my own curiosity, I fell in love,
You became my pretty fairy sent from up above.

However you later turned so cold yet I was still friendly,
Had you ever really liked me or was it all pure fantasy?

Why did you smile at me so often if you hated me so much?
Were you just being defensive, afraid of such and such?

If I had ever hurt you it was not my intention and I sincerely apologize,
Alas, we did not even become friends or said our final goodbyes.

It is now time for us to depart and I wish you well,
If we shall ever meet again: only time will tell.
