Falling out of love/back in love.

I remember when we were each others everything,
didn't care about what the future would bring,
the here and now was all that we needed,
with you my life felt completed.
We were two teenagers, with fire in our eyes,
every kiss would knock me off balance, take m by surprise,
and I couldn't keep my eyes off you,
and you just kept staring at me too.
Life got in the way and we lost sight of us,
and as time went by we fell out of love,
living day by day just wasn't enough,
who knew life would get so tough.
We talked about it, ended in a screaming match,
I told you to get out and to never come back,
but baby you refused to leave,
you stayed and you comforted me.
Life became a routine, everything was up hill,
just spending every moment thinking ‘bout the bills,
no spontaneity between us right now,
I want the fire back but I just don't know how

Back in the day we were passionate and hot,
and right now we're like a simmering pot.

But then you look at me in a way that touches my heart,
and it takes me right back to the start.
And you say the words I need to hear,
it makes this whole new situation clear.
It's not that we're not in love anymore,
we just love eachother differently than before..

So I kiss you like the way we used to kiss,
and I feel that spark that I missed.
I feel the things, that I've lately ignored,
and I feel that I love you even more than before.

I'm nearly 20 years old and I live in Wrexham, North Wales. I write poetry because it's one of the things that comes naturally. When I was a child I would try to write a diary like everyone else my age but I ended up with a book of poetry. I find it the easiest way to express what is happening in my mind too (which, in some cases, worries me- since my poetry is rather bizzare!) I don't have any diploma's, certificates or qualifications that tell me I should write but I write anyway. I hope people like my poetry- but I know it won't be everyone's cup of tea- but I hope it's yours. ALSO; PLEASE BE AWARE THAT ALLTHOUGH I WROTE 'THIS POEM MEANS' UNDERNEATH MY POEMS- I'M MERELY STATING WHAT IT MEANT IN MY HEAD. PLEASE INTERPRET MY POETRY HOWEVER YOU WISH. http://www.booksie.com/mystery_and_crime/short_story/inksplodges/bitter-freedom/chapter/1 < one of my short stories. more…
