Fair Principles

I have often wondered why some will live while others die.
What fair principles apply for wretched loss or apple pie?

I have often wondered what some will hide while others strut.
What fair principles abut for dreadful lack or lavish glut?

I have often wondered how some will fail while others wow.
What fair principles allow for altar sack or wedding vow?

I have often wondered where some will flee while others dare.
What fair principles declare for paltry pay or lion's share?

I have often wondered who some will clap while others boo.
What fair principles accrue for cool reply or witches' brew?

I have often wondered when some will stir while others den.
What fair principles open for love letter or poison pen?
