Ever On

What else is there to do but watch the world
spin by, if after all we try we still get
left behind. To follow blindly through the
narrow path thats beaten by the steps of
time, a crude and winding trail paved more
in pain than hope. How else are we to see
while looking down for pitfalls in our way,
and never watch the sun rise high. So we
sit back and watch it turn, as silently it
wanders through the dark. And silently we
dream and pray, for what not even we still
know. Because we know not deep inside, how
far the footsteps that we walk lead on. Nor
do we know what lies beyond the hill, and
only know that we must carry on. How often
seen is that lone man that couldnt stand to
make another step, and in his eyes we see
such peace that turn away we must and run.
What else is there to do but follow through.
