Eve And Mary

Three thousand characters
are named in the bible.
Ten percent are women,
with Eve held liable
as fountainhead of sin.
Yet there were many men,
who in their groups tribal,
were primary actors.

Eve was more than Adam's enticing wife.
Eve was mother to future human life.

Three thousand characters
are named in the bible.
Mary the Magdalene,
in the records scribal,
was at the grave to glean,
the resurrection scene
witness of no rival,
though there were distracters.

Mary was more than a forgiven harlot.
Mary was a faithful, devout starlet.
