Elders in the distance, being young while they still can
Collections of authentic works are lying in the sun
Insignias of inspiration, their bindings come undone

Scientists of mysticism that teach others of a song
A lonely bard whose half a life is now so very long
An audience, in desperation, listens to his hymn
Feels the warmth of happiness turn so cold and grim

Roadways of stupidity will never fail to wind
Leading some to memories that most would never find
Giving birth to darkness is the mother of the stars
Dying of invention and the number of her scars

Giving in to secrecy - time's cryptic cold response
The spirit of stagnation takes pride in how it haunts
A fading glimpse of yesterday invites tomorrow in
Desire begs the end of time, hopes it won't begin
