Envy and Jealousy

The sword that seeks to pierce me,
Which almost cut my soul asunder
To render me worthless than I be,
Else I go far beyond its bearer
In the chase of what we see.

The sharp arrows of the mighty
Aimed at my sincere harmless soul,
That couldn't offend even a sissy,
By the mighty one's unkind whole
That breaths with rough impunity.

He whose cruelty is as the grave;
Whose fire burns with vehement flame
Terrifies me like the troubled wave,
And frightens my thought of good fame
With its thirsty threatening rave.

It's like thorns on my soft brow,
Which make hot drips of blood to drop
Down my stained cheeks anyhow,
While I moan in pains without a sop
To ease my wronged selfless mind now.

Oh! Jealousy is more rude than death;
And Envy is not better than hell:
Both robs men of their peaceful breath
When life, to them, seems to be well
While they abide on this sullied earth!

Pius Has Pagiel

Fresh and new, and young. Born in a village hospital in Ogidi, Anambra State of Nigeria on Tuesday, 26th September, 1989 to Mr. and Mrs. Pius Nwibo Onwe, who hail from Ndewugo-Inyimagu of IZZI LGA of Ebonyi State. My family name is Onwe Arinze Pius. Pius Has Pagiel is my pen-name. Some very close friends call me Soisese Oinese(meaning Success Onwe in my private language). I passed through Christ the King College, Onitsha and made one of the best results- I was science-inclined, though, I love literature very well. I won the best literature student award in first Senior Secondary School class before I dropped the subject for full science ones. Today, I am a student of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State, Nigeria. Luckily, I am into Architectural Studies, a mixture of Arts and Science. I love it. I wish to be a renown poet and author in the future. I like writers like Chinua Achebe, Wole Soyinka, Ngugi wa Thiong'o, Alfred Lord Tennyson, John Keats, Wilbur Smith and several others. Let's be friends on facebook. Search my profile: Pagiel Pius Has. Mail piushaspagiel@yahoo.com. Thanks. more…
